The Nigerian Army has faulted an analysis by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on the recently released suspected terrorist’s photographs.

The Nigerian army spokesperson Sani Usman in a conversation with Naij.com said the analysis by BBC is aimed at frustrating military’s efforts and activities to clear insurgnets in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

Policeman Shoots Cab Driver Dead

An unnamed police officer has reportedly shot a cab driver for driving against traffic at 2nd Rainbow bus stop, Apapa-Oshodi expressway, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos state The incident sparked an uproar from an angry mob which took to the highway and block the roads, causing gridlock in the area. Some people were seen throwing stones and tyres at a police patrol van, they eventually set the van on fire. Policemen in a convoy arrived the scene afterwards, shooting into the air to disperse the protesters. See videos after the cut.....

President Buhari gave an exclusive interview to the NDTV. Nigerian leader, who is expected back to the country today October 30 from his official visit to India, stated that even that the terrorist sect is on the retreat. He said: “They are on the retreat. If you go to the front, you will find out that they no longer occupy the areas in the North East they once did.”

Edwin Clark claims Reuben Abati sabotaged Jonathan

Notable Ijaw leader Chief Edwin Clark has accused former Spokesperson to former President Jonathan, Reuben Abati, of sabotaging his efforts while he was in office. Clarke said this in response to Abati's article in which he accused Clark of not recognizing Jonathan as a "son" anymore because he was out of office. In an email sent to Premiumtimes, Clarke said

Maria Ekanem sold her two week old baby to an Abuja-based woman for N20,000. According to a report by Vanguard, the 20-year-old school drop out from Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, was arrested by the police along with her accomplices.

The Lagos state police command, yesterday arraigned one Omumgwa Loveday, an Aba based businessman, before a magistrate court over allegations that he attacked his friend, 32 year old Chiwendu Sunday with cutlass and stole his N800, 000 at a hotel on Osolo way in Ajao estate Lagos.

Majek Fashek urges the government to rehabilitate mental health patients

According to Reggae icon, Majek Fashek, who is battling drug alcohol abuse & just came out rehab, 'mental health is very important in the lives of people and a nation.' Speaking at the 46th Annual General Conference and Scientific Meeting of the Association of Psychiatrists in Nigeria (APN) in Lagos, themed 'Mental Health as a Driver for Positive Change', he said,  “Mental health is not a yardstick to look down upon people. There is need to create a system to manage or rehabilitate people who are not mentally balanced and as well create more awareness on mental health challenges and appropriate management. Government should look into how to rehabilitate mental health patients as most of them have great potentials and talents.'

Supreme Court upholds election of Imo governor, Rochas Okorocha

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Rochas Okorocha as the Imo State governor. At a ruling this morning, the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, challenging the election of Okorocha during the April 14th election. What is wrong with these people sef? Some pro-Biafra activists shared videos of themselves tearing their Nigerian passport, denouncing their citizenship and asking for the breakaway of the South-East from Nigeria. They will make a long anti-Nigeria speech and then tear pages from their passports Meanwhile, the Nigeria Immigration Service has warned that tearing your passport in such a manner is illegal, a crime and attracts a jail term. Robbery: Benin Woman Disarms, Arrests Suspect

A brave woman in Benin has assisted policemen attached to the Oba police station in Benin City, Edo state, to arrest five suspected armed robbers after she over-powered an attempt by one the suspects to rob her. It was learnt that the suspects were arrested after a member of their gang simply identified as Stanley, who claimed an Isoko man from Delta state attempted to rob a woman with a locally made pistol at Ire Street. Luck however ran out on the suspected armed robber when the newscaster (name withheld) over powered the suspect and raised alarm which drew the attention of residents to her rescue.

Kunbi   who owned a provision store and was also preparing for his wedding in December had sold his motorcycle to Aliu, in order to raise money to pay his school fees, about a month ago.

His death has apparently been confirmed by Sunni Islamic jihadist militants the al-Nusra Front - his wing of Al-Qaeda within Syria.
