An unnamed police officer has reportedly shot a cab driver for driving against traffic at 2nd Rainbow bus stop, Apapa-Oshodi expressway, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos state The incident sparked an uproar from an angry mob which took to the highway and block the roads, causing gridlock in the area. Some people were seen throwing stones and tyres at a police patrol van, they eventually set the van on fire. President Buhari gave an exclusive interview to the NDTV. Nigerian leader, who is expected back to the country today October 30 from his official visit to India, stated that even that the terrorist sect is on the retreat. He said: “They are on the retreat. The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Rochas Okorocha as the Imo State governor. At a ruling this morning, the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, challenging the election of Okorocha during the April 14th election. A brave woman in Benin has assisted policemen attached to the Oba police station in Benin City, Edo state, to arrest five suspected armed robbers after she over-powered an attempt by one the suspects to rob her. It was learnt that the suspects were arrested after a member of their gang simply identified as Stanley, who claimed an Isoko man from Delta state attempted to rob a woman with a locally made pistol at Ire Street. Luck however ran out on the suspected armed robber when the newscaster (name withheld) over powered the suspect and raised alarm which drew the attention of residents to her rescue.

The Clinton Police Department released sordid details about the recent kidnapping and subsequent sexual abuse of a Florida man visiting Jackson, Mississippi to participate in a bodybuilding competition. The unnamed victim was walking through downtown Jackson when 43 year old Cathy Priest allegedly forced him by gunpoint into her Mazda Miata and drove him to her mobile home in nearby Clinton.

A Business  administration student of  Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, identified as Kunbi reportedly received a phone call from a private security guard, identified simply as Aliu, who lives on same street with him, to come collect the  N32,000 he owed him. Kunbi   who owned a provision store and was also preparing for his wedding in December had sold his motorcycle to Aliu, in order to raise money to pay his school fees, about a month ago.

The leader of Al-Qaeda in Syria has been killed during fighting in the city of Aleppo. Graphic images of Sheikh Abu Sulaiman Al Masri's body, with a bloody head wound, have been shared online. His death has apparently been confirmed by Sunni Islamic jihadist militants the al-Nusra Front - his wing of Al-Qaeda within Syria.
