Mysterious fire destroys N30m goods in Onitsha market

  A mysterious fire yesterday destroyed goods worth more than N30 million in Car Paints Market in Onitsha, Anambra State. Although no life was lost, two three-storey buildings beside the shops were partially affected and were saved by the prompt arrival of men of the fire service. The cause of the fire, could not be ascertained but the fire started in a car paints shop at about 2.30p.m

Fifa: Sepp Blatter, Michel Platini & Jerome Valcke suspended

  Fifa has provisionally suspended its president Sepp Blatter, secretary general Jerome Valcke and vice-president Michel Platini for 90 days. The punishments were handed out by the ethics committee of football's world governing body, which is investigating the three over corruption allegations. It also banned ex-Fifa vice-president Chung Mong-joon for six years. Both Chung and Platini are hoping to replace Blatter when he steps down as president in February. "The grounds for these decisions are the investigations that are being carried out by the investigatory chamber of the ethics committee," the body said in a statement. The three are banned from any football activity in the interim. They deny any wrongdoing.

There were strong indications on Wednesday that Switzerland might extradite a Nigerian oil baron, Kola Aluko, to the United Kingdom. The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, in an electronic mail to one of our correspondents, confirmed that the UK had sought for mutual legal assistance from its country. In an e-mail sent to it, the office of the AGF of Switzerland was asked if it had received extradition request from the UK on the businessman. It was also asked to specify the time the extradition process would begin and when he would be extradited. Nigerian billionaire, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has lost his niece, who is also is adopted daughter, to the cold hands of death.   It is reported that Dangote brought her up and trained her through University after Fatima Bello Dangote lost her father alongside Ibrahim Abacha in a plane crash in 1996. Peter Fabiyi,32, was on Wednesday, September 30, sentenced to 3 years and nine months in prison by Blackfriars Crown Court after he masturbated and ejaculated over a woman while on a London Underground train. Fabiyi committed the offence on Wednesday, July 2014. The victim, a woman in her 20s boarded a train towards Mitcham Junction and traveled a few stops before she realized that Fabiyi was standing directly in front of her with his trousers undone as the train left Elephant and Castle station in central London, after which he performed the sex act while they were both alone in the carriage. According to London 24, the woman then pushed past him and frantically fled to another carriage, before telling another passenger what just happened. British Transport Police then arrested Mr Fabiyi after seeing him leave Tulse Hill station where he slid under ticket barriers to avoid paying a fare. Following his arrest, interrogation and arraignment, Mr Fabiyi admitted...

Indian Villagers Worship Newly Built Toilets Instead Of Using Them

This happened in one of the deeply rural areas of India. The residents inaugurated a newly built toilet by performing proper ritual worship ceremony. A plate was placed at ground, in front of the toilet filled with a cup of vermilion, and a glass full of milk as another offering. The toilet seat and floor of toilet was covered with flowers, while coconut and bananas were offered to the God of toilets (that is if something like that exists). Lol
