Milos Jojic makes Cologne switch, Felipe Santana move falls through Cologne have been handed mixed news in the transfer market during their preparations for the Bundesliga season. Cologne have completed the signing of midfielder Milos Jojic from Borussia Dortmund, but have passed on the opportunity to bring in Schalke defender Felipe Santana. The 23-year-old arrived at Signal Iduna Park from Partizan in January 2014, but struggled to feature regularly under Jurgen Klopp. Jojic made 20 Bundesliga appearances as well as five more in the UEFA Champions League, but is seemingly not in Thomas Tuchel's plans at Dortmund this term and will make the move to Cologne on a four-year deal. However, former Dortmund man Santana will not be joining him at the RheinEnergieStadion from Schalke, with Cologne having hamstring concerns over the Brazilian defender. Mario Balotelli's 'adopted father' dies     Mario Balotelli will fly back to Italy for the funeral of his father Francesco. The Liverpool striker and Italy international was born in Palermo to the Barwuah family, but adopted by the Balotellis in Brescia before he turned three. Father Mario died after a long illness and the funeral will be held today. We offer the Balotelli family our sincerest condolences

Messi family attacked at Copa America final

Members of the Argentina star's family were set upon by Chile fans during the first half of the clash between the two sides on Saturday  Members of Argentina star  Lionel Messi ’s family were attacked by Chile  fans during the first half of the Copa America final between the two sides on Saturday evening. The incident occurred just before half-time when supporters of La Roja began to insult the Barcelona forward's family. The 28-year-old’s brother Rodrigo was hit by one fan after an angry exchange and the whole family were moved to a television cabin at half-time for their own safety. The family of striker Sergio Aguero were also insulted by a sector of the Chilean fans. Messi, meanwhile, was handed some rough treatment by the rival defenders at the Estadio Nacional and was struck in the chest by a violent kick from defender Gary Medel in the first half. Nigerian coach Keshi Sacked!

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has sacked Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles, after they found him guilty of applying for the Ivory Coast job.  A statement by the NFF Executive Committee on Saturday said this decision was made, “having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles’ Head Coach, which we found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the Coach’s employment contract.” The statement went further: “To this end and pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4.3 of the Employment Contract between Mr. Stephen Keshi and the NFF (The Contract) and the various clauses therein, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr. Steph...
